Staked out the bbq at lunch time to get my desired choice of meat. Success! We rock, Anna.
After everything got cleaned up we were finally invited to the meeting.
Then work started being done: dock out, chairs away, sail boat and canoes packed up for the winter. ...And Anna, Annik and I waddling up the road for a walk.
Came up with a cousin roadtrip plan.

Got back and it was time to head off. Said goodbye to everyone, which takes about 20 minutes, and we were finally on our way. Earlier then I would have liked...
Got home around 7pm. Had a discussion about our plans and I finally headed off with Em to Dads. Picked up his car and went to Timmy's to meet Robyn.

Eventually made our way to Nicks place. A so-so night turned out to be an early morning jam session where we wrote our very first song!

Played some world ball in the morning
granny panties vs sad sacks. we lost pretty bad.
Lunch and then lounging. Stole Pat's cushion.
Decided to head out to Town.
Pat, Annik and I piled into Nick's car and we headed on a little road trip.
Booze, cigars and chocolate
St. Donat was the place to be. Road closures and people partying in the streets. I have never seen traffic in St. Donat before..
Excitement for the day:
Nick broke his thumb, gashed his forehead, and narrowly missed popping his junk as he took a crash off his bike, Mom got tossed overboard on the sailboat, Yves got hit in the head as the boom came across, and Nana has a big swollen infected hand and is not reaching for strawberries for long periods of time.


Nick: "you want a stick? I have a stick"
Pat: "Whoa, it's like a police baton."
Nick: "Yah, and I have a bigger one too, look!"
Pat: "where the hell do you live?"

Got back to the cottage and discovered new people had arrived. The Burns' plus Brian (sans Luke)

Pat: "It looked like a ....boobie"

Poppa: "Yes. YEs. YES, Muffin. Yes!"

Got ready for the corn roast! After much reluctance we all helped husk the corn.
Played a round of What's on my Back?

Eric: "Does my country have a national anthem? Does it have a flag?"

Corn roast! and sausages...mmm...sausages....
Desert (more specially made butter tarts for me)
Cleaned up then had a battle of the sexes in a crossword races. Both teams finished, unexpectadely, at exactly the same time. The Females came out on top as the men seem to have a hard time spelling things correctly.
The gang of cousins headed out the road with Beer.

Beer Bottle Choir...and Emily comes in with the lead vocals!

Pat: "Let's play a game...It's called 'Try and Make Sense of what Emily is Saying"

Cottage time really wears you out...but we headed back for a camp fire.
We didn't last very long, and Nick was about to pass out so we all headed to bed....but then...

Got up pretty late for cottage time

Bear sightings! - drove Em up the road to be on the safe side, and saw a momma bear with her two cubs. Came back and parked our car to have a better look.
Circus Tricks, Pizza boxes and a barking Duffy

Mom: Yeah, there are bear.

Mom: ...alright.

Eventually went back to pick up Em - good timing.
back for Lunch [crab salad, of course]
Everyone then headed off for a hike and I was left at the cottage with Muffin.
Nick showed up not too long after to keep me company. We walked out to his car and spotted the bear at the top of the driveway. Grabbed Muffin and booked it inside.
Sat down by the water and appreciated all it's beauty...then headed back up the road to do some more bear hunting.
Had an intense game of Rummy with Anna, which went on for the majority of the day.
The Laporte's arrived around 9pm.
Chatted, Em and Pat tried to insert Uno into our game with no results.

headed down and chilled on the dock for a while, drinking beer.

Warmth was calling us back to the cottage, so we headed up and went to sleep

Soak It In

Got up around 9am - packed
Pest control people showed up to spray for Centipedes - yay!!

Me: "he's hot in the bald, short, muscular kind of way"
NotMe: "Yah. And did you see his butt? It was as hard as a rock!"

Headed out on the open road.
Stopped at the Metro in town to pick up dinner and lunch and some Sangria fixens.
Got to the cottage around 3, and we were there before anyone else! That's a first...
Put on some MJ on the porch, made the Sangria and danced around and/or read.
Nana and Poppa got up around 5.
Made some dinner, and then decided to go in for a swim, but it ended up being too cold...
Anna, Eric, and Noodle got up around 8pm
Bed not too long later

Don't remember what I did for most of the morning...
Met up with Jodie around 4 to get some Lemonade and sit on the picnic tables.
Chatted about multiple things then headed back to her place to meet Tabitha.
Tabitha never showed so we made pizza, drank and chatted some more.
Eventually left and met Llew at my place.
Hung out for the last time, once again.
He headed off and Emily and I broke out some Micheal Jackson dance moves in the kitchen.

New Nails, New Phone

Woke up around 10:30
Had a confusing text from Jodie
Went to Second Cup and then sat outside reading for a while.
Mom and Em arrived home shortly after 1pm, with stories of their unfortunate trip to Toronto.
I headed out to Jodie's place, where the fire alarm in the building went off. Everyone evacuated and then the hot firemen showed up... false alarm!
Finally headed out and went to Chapters where I bought Two books, one of which was a lucky find.

Home for a yummy steak dinner with Mom and Em.
Back out to the movies with Jodie - Julie & Julia - cute!
Now we have our own recipe goal this coming year.

Done for the season

Woke up and went out to get a coffee
read and watched OTH, bummed around.
Jodie stopped by to pick up her pay check.
Last Hockey game - go out with a bang - got 4 goals!
Home and pizza and more OTH.
